Things you can do with a Star...

Over the years, I know that many of you have attended the International Motorcycle Show at one of its stops around the country.

When I lived in Northern California, it seemed that no matter when they scheduled the show, it would rain at least one of the three days.  However, I'm now in La-La Land, and rain is rare (except for today, of course).  And, this year, I attended the show as part of the media.  Was it exciting?  Well, there was a free lunch... Actually, they--the Show staff--were quite nice and had a full slate of things for us to see, especially new bikes and custom specials (which all seemed to have been built by Roland Sands Designs, though not really all of them).  Here's some of those bikes and a few brief comments -- roll your mouse cursor over the photos to see the comments and right-click to see a larger image.

Things you can do with a Star...
A not-exactly-off-the-shelf Road Star.
And on and on and on and...
Better get started on your Star Raider, the rest of class is already finished...
Also from BMS Choppers, note the single-sided swingarm. This is based on a 2005 Road Star.
This scooter is not like the others. Not only does the Vectrix have two front wheels (that lean during cornering) but it's an all-electric engine.
To the victor go the spoils. In this case, it's one very modified, very fast nitrous-equipped, girder-forked Victory.
I love Vincents. I think they just scream cool and classy and sexy and fast. Don't quote me, but I think this one's a 1953 Black Shadow.
It's an Arlen Ness custom. Minimalist, cool, chrome and blue metal flake. You won't find this at your local dealership.
This is not your mother's Sportster. This was amidst about a dozen or so bikes built by Roland Sands Designs. Amazing what one can do with a 2000 H-D Sportster.
